We believe the Holy Bible is God’s inspired message for all mankind that instructs us so we may do His will (2Timothy 3:16-17). However, the Old Testament was taken out of the way when Christ was nailed to the cross (Colossians 2:14). Though we still learn much by studying the Old Testament, the New Testament is now our instruction book for life and eternal life. It gives us the teachings of God’s Son Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2). Jesus is The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6). He wants us to show our love for him by keeping his commands (John 14:15). He offers his saving grace, but we must have faith and do his good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). We must not add to or take away from his teachings (Revelation 22:18-19). So the New Testament is our authority for learning how to be saved, how to worship, how the Church is organized, and how to please Christ in our daily living. We wear the name “Church Of Christ” because He is whom we belong to (Matthew 16:18). We wear the name “Summit” because it is simply the township where our building is located. By Faith (Hebrews 11:6), Repentance (Acts 17:30), Confessing Christ (Romans 10:9-10), and by being Baptized (1 Corinthians 12:12-13), your sins can be washed away (Acts 22:16), and you can be a member of Christ’s body (His Church) and be saved (1 Peter 3:21).
